Precision tools
The Object coordinates docker lets you draw, size, and rotate shapes and lines with precision. Live preview is available to facilitate your drawing and editing tasks.
You can now draw lines that are tangent or perpendicular to two objects. This feature makes it much easier to draw objects such as cylinders.
Enhanced dimension lines and callouts
Dimension tool enhancements include reverse arrowheads for small dimension lines, the ability to customize the extension lines on which dimension lines rest, and support for static dimension text. In addition, there are new standard-compliant dimension styles to choose from.
By popular request, the Corel DESIGNER object model now lets you automate the creation and modification of callouts in your documents.
Enhanced connector lines
Advanced connector-line capabilities let you draw detailed, multi-point flow lines in wiring diagrams and flow charts. Connector lines remain attached to objects as you move them, and improved anchor points let you choose how connector lines attach to objects. Importing diagrams from Microsoft Visio results in an editable diagram with all connector lines and objects maintained.
Enhanced technical graphics tools
Advanced arrowhead tools let you enhance your dimension, callout, and connector lines. You can specify arrowhead attributes such as size, offset, and rotation angle. When creating an arrowhead from an object, you can specify the arrowhead size with precision. Custom arrowhead attributes can be saved as arrowhead presets.
Halos are masks that display an outline on a connector line. You can make wiring diagrams and flow charts easier to comprehend and edit by applying halos to connector lines that cross over one another. You can also use halos to highlight the axes of an exploded view in your technical illustration.
Independent layers
You can now control and edit layers independently for each page of your document. Local, independent guidelines can be added for individual pages, and master guidelines can be added for the entire document. When importing CAD files, you can now set multiple layers to a single page. In addition, support for importing Micrografx Designer files has been enhanced.
Tables
A new interactive table feature lets you create and import tables to provide a structured layout for text and graphics in drawings. You can easily align, resize, or edit tables and cells to adapt them to your designs.
Text editing and formatting
Enhanced text editing and formatting features include new text formatting dockers, a live text preview, and an updated spelling checker. Now you can choose to align text vertically or horizontally within a paragraph. You can also add a color background to entire text frames and selected text characters.
Enhanced compatibility
Enhanced import compatibility lets you import files from AutoCAD 2008, Microsoft Visio 2003 and 2007, Microsoft Word 2007, and PDF 1.7. Imported PDF files retain password security and comments.
Enhanced CAD import
Imported AutoCAD 2008 DWG and DXF files now retain dimensions such as jog symbols, inspection dimensions, and arc extensions for radial dimensions. Password protection is also retained. When importing a password-protected AutoCAD file, you are prompted to enter the password before opening the file.
Raw camera file support
When importing raw files directly from your digital camera, you can view information about file properties and camera settings, adjust image color and tone, and improve image quality. Interactive controls let you preview changes in real time.
